What Random Assignment Toolkit helps you do

Random Assignment Toolkit helps users distribute tasks, prizes, teams, foods, chores, responsibilities, and other items without manually pairing names and lists by hand.

Instead of acting like a simple wheel spinner, the toolkit supports reusable participant and item pools, removal rules, duplicate-pair protection, history tracking, and three presentation styles for different moods and use cases.

Because the page keeps randomization in the browser, names and assignments can stay local while still supporting shareable configurations, undo, CSV export, and repeatable classroom, family, team, or event workflows.

Frequently asked questions

How are assignments randomized?

The toolkit chooses a valid participant-item pair first using browser-side random selection, then animates the chosen result in the selected presentation mode.

Can one person receive multiple items?

Yes. You can enable participant reuse so one person can receive more than one task, prize, or item.

What happens when the lists have different sizes?

The toolkit stops when no more valid assignments can be made. Any leftover participants or items remain clearly visible.

Are names stored or uploaded?

Assignments run in the browser and saved session data stays in localStorage unless you clear it. Names are not meant to be uploaded to the server for normal use.

Can I undo an assignment?

Yes. You can undo the last assignment, remove individual rows from visible history, or start the whole run over.

Can I use it for classroom activities?

Yes. It works well for presentation topics, group pairings, discussion prompts, and student task assignments.

Can I use it to assign prizes?

Yes. Prize draws, party activities, raffles, and giveaway pairings are strong use cases for the toolkit.

Is the result truly random?

The result is determined before animation using a random selection step rather than by relying on visual animation position alone.
